What this site knows about you (very little)

No accounts, no forms, no mailing list. Readers are counted with Google Analytics 4; switch it off whenever you like. Here is the whole picture.

Wavelength Scalp is a static site. There is nothing to sign up for, no comment box, no newsletter and no form of any kind — so the site collects no names, no email addresses and no health information, and has no marketing list to add you to or sell. We would rather hold no reader data than explain what we do with it.

What technically exists

Like every website, the server that delivers these pages writes standard access logs — IP address, page requested, time, browser string — which we use only in aggregate to keep the site running. The site sets no advertising trackers.

Counting readers with Google Analytics 4

To see which laser-cap and LED pages are read, Wavelength Scalp uses Google Analytics 4. It records which pages are opened, from which site, from roughly which country or city, on what device and browser, and for how long. We look at totals, never at a person.

No advertising features, no Google signals, no personalised ads: those settings are all off. The data isn't sold and event records go after 14 months. Google's privacy policy covers Google's processing.

Readers whose clocks run on European time (the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and the rest of Europe) meet a banner, and nothing is sent unless they accept. Elsewhere analytics runs by default, but Global Privacy Control in your browser is honoured as a no. Your browser stores the answer locally as analytics-consent. Change it with analytics settings; declining deletes the Google Analytics cookies. During measurement, Google's two cookies (_ga, _ga_<ID>) are kept up to two years. There's also Google's opt-out add-on.

Vendor links on the laser cap page pass through this site's own /go/ redirect to the vendor. Once you land on a vendor's store, that vendor's own privacy policy governs; the vendor may set cookies on its own side.

Email

If you email the contact address, we keep the thread for as long as the correction or question stays relevant, use it for nothing else, and share it with no one. Ask and we delete it.
